THE IPHONE 15 PRO CAMERA: THIS IS WHAT «PRO» TRULY MEANS

THREE MONTHS LATER, I REALIZE THIS IS NO ORDINARY IPHONE

The camera on this iPhone isn’t like the 13’s, which is also very good; this is a whole new level.

  • The picture definition (24 MP by default) is significantly higher.
  • The X2 and X3 zoom is marvelous.
  • I love the macro feature.
  • The brightness and colors are fabulous.

I didn’t think I’d notice the difference, but I sure do now!

Lenses

In the iPhone 15 Pro, the 48-megapixel sensor is larger compared to the iPhone 15. This means even more detail and brightness.

-Focal aperture f/1.78
-Second-generation sensor-shift optical image stabilization
-Photographic resolution of 24 megapixels and 48 megapixels
-Zoom x1 and x2

Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro features a third camera dedicated to zoom. This camera allows for greater close-up shots.

Focal aperture f/2.8
Optical image stabilization
Resolution of 12 megapixels
Zoom x3

RANKING DXOMARK: THE SIXTH BEST CAMERA, TIED WITH THE PRO MAX

Dxomark

4K/60 FPS VIDEO

The video, as always on the iPhone, is top-notch. Smooth, sharp, and well-stabilized. With de Action mode, even more stabilization.

And it can still record professional-quality footage by connecting an external SSD.

SOME TIPS

Capture at 48MP: Make sure the «Resolution Control» option is enabled in the camera settings to capture images at the maximum 48MP resolution with the main camera.

Night Mode and Macro Mode: Note that the resolution reduces to 12MP when night mode, macro mode, or the built-in flash are activated.

Resolution and Macro Lens Control

Volume Buttons for Photos and Videos: You can use the volume buttons to quickly take photos or hold them down to record a video.

Programmable Action Button: Use the programmable action button to open the camera app in your preferred mode (or assign other useful functions).

Flower Icon When Approaching an Object: This means the macro lens has automatically activated. To deactivate it, tap on it.

CONCLUSION

The camera is one of the reasons to opt for the more expensive Pro models. It’s something you can live without perfectly, but once you try it, you notice the difference. I understand that «content creators» and photography, video, etc. enthusiasts use the Pro models. For everyone else, the regular iPhones are more than enough with their excellent cameras.
